Mountain Guide in haute-savoie between Chamonix, the massif of Mont Blanc and Annecy, with canyons and via-ferrata, my career is rich of an experience in mountain rescue units of the gendarmerie.
Native of a Small fishing village on an island of the atlantique coast of France, nothing previous me to do a career as a mountain guide.
As a teenager I discovered the Hautes Pyrénées.
I realized at this time that I wanted to live in the mountain.
I oriented my studies to be able to work one day in the national park of Pyrénées.
Unfortunately, places were rare, but a meeting with a mountain rescuer of Pierrefite-Nestalas will change my mind.
Why don’t I try in this way ?
The following year I had to do my military service. I was able to join the mountain rescue service at the gendarmerie.
I prepared for the exam and was successful.
After a few years at Grenoble, I became a member at the mountain rescue service.
The first post took me in the alps-maritime where canyoning was becoming increasingly popular.
I married Sophie in 1996 who came from a small village in haute-savoie.
I passed the exam to start the training to began aspirant guide.
Life looks like mountains with up and down. Relief give a special meaning to existence.
1998 was a great year for me :
I was appoint to the rescue unit of Chamonix
I became the father of a baby daughter Morgane
I was successfull in gaining the diploma of aspirant-guide
1999 was a special dark year for Chamonix. A lot of snow caused killer avalanches and fires in town and in the tunnel du Mont-Blanc.
The storm of the 26 of December brought to a close.
2001 was also a great year with the arrival of my baby son Alexis, who expanded the family and I was successfull in gaining the diploma of Mountain Guide.
In September 2002, I had the opportunity to work three years as a rescuer on the island of la Réunion in the Indian ocean.
For a man born and bred on an island, I couldn’t refuse.
We spent three fabulous years and we took advantage to visit nearby islands such as Madagascar and to climb to the roof of Africa : Kilimanjaro.
We came back in France in September 2005 and settled in Annecy.
This return was hard for all the family.
Frequent moves aren’t easy for young children.
In my work I wanted to change, I need new challenge.
The idea of working as a mountain guide occupied my mind more and more time.
I wanted to share my passion with other people.
We decided to live in a small village at the north of Annecy.
I stopped my job as a rescuer in march 2008 and started as an independent Mountain Guide.
