Many via ferrata are equipped in the Haute Savoie, close to the Mont Blanc and the massif des Aravis near Annecy.
The first "via ferrata" have emerged in the Dolomites. Those are the Italian military during first world war whose equipped some techniques routes to allow troops to cross.
In the 80s the via ferrata has developed into a recreational purpose.
Equipped with harnesses and roped with your guide, you move in safely above the vacuum.
The via ferrata of Col des Aravis: beautiful route to discover this activity. It lasts about 3 hours it offers a magnificent view over the Col des Aravis.
The via ferrata of Jalouvre longer than the previous one is above the Col de la Colombiere. It takes about 5 hours to do it.
The via ferrata of Thones is the technical hardest of the sector. A technical and physical minimum level is required for that route.
